SITUATION
The development corporation that owned this shopping mall requested an inspection from Western Architecture (WA) on the weather integrity of the mall’s facade.
Our firm conducted a series of inspections on the EIFS siding, gutters, and weather envelope system, and provided the development corporation with recommendations for obtaining a manufacturer’s warranty for replacement or repair of the EIFS cladding and stone.
SOLUTION
The owners used the recommendations from WA to litigate and obtain a complete replacement of the EIFS cladding and stone. The replacement materials including an EIFS drainage cladding system covered by warranty.
