LOCATION
Hillsboro, Oregon

SITUATION
The condominium owners’ association of this multi-unit complex contracted Western Architectural to plan and manage a series of comprehensive weatherproofing repairs and maintenance to extend the life of the development.

SOLUTION
The project called for remediating the windows, decks and defective exterior wall cladding and repairing exterior finishes. It also replaced the existing wood, EIFS and stucco around windows, and replaced various flashings at the roof and the sidewalls. The exterior decks had to be re-sloped and the deck membrane replaced.

Concrete entry stairs and landings at the second level end units had to be reconstructed. The repair plan called for new wood framing, insulation, structural plywood sheathing and moisture barriers. And finally, ceiling and wall finishes had to be replaced with new matching interior gypsum wallboard and paint at affected areas.
