LOCATION
Washougal, Washington

SITUATION
The homeowner contacted Western Architectural (WA) as a result of window leaks on the back side of the home. An invasive investigation revealed improper window installation, including missing window flashing and reverse lap of the weather-resistant building wrap.

Additional research showed that the windows chosen for this home were not strong enough for the high wind levels frequently experienced in that geographic area.

SOLUTION
As an independent third party, WA worked with the homeowner’s attorney and the original builder to develop a mutually agreeable repair plan that would replace the affected windows and siding without total removal of the siding system.

The replacement materials matched the original siding systems, with the addition of windows that were appropriate for the geographic area.
