Vertical Survey Condition Assessments

Western Architectural utilizes several techniques for performing building envelope assessments, including both invasive and non-invasive visual observations, and the use of swing stages and motorized bosun’s chairs to gain access to a building’s exterior.

In addition, we are adept at performing Vertical Survey Condition Assessments on towers, and mid- and high-rise structures. Working in teams of two or three, our specially trained forensic staff utilizes light-weight rigging to rappel down the face of high-rise buildings, performing current condition assessments and gaining an accurate, bird’s-eye perspective of what is actually occurring on the structure’s façade. This suspension technique allows for close observation of critical locations to detect water intrusion and other issues adversely affecting the building envelope.

Vertical Survey Condition Assessments offer an extremely cost-effective alternative to conventional swing stage rigging. When performed by skilled professionals, they are safe, effective, and have virtually no impact on the structure.

In addition to performing Vertical Survey Condition Assessments on buildings throughout Oregon and Washington, our staff has past experience working on such iconic high-rises as the Trump Tower, Wynn Hotel and Casino, and City Center Vdara and Mandarin Towers in Las Vegas.

Western Architectural maintains an excellent track record for safety, and our rigging and assessment techniques are in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations.
